Development of Uncharted 4 A Thief’s End

Uncharted 4 A Thief’s End was announced two years ago and the teaser trailer sent shockwaves among the franchise fans. Developers announced that will be available on PlayStation 4 and will represent the final installment in the franchise, but actual release was postponed twice. This was caused by the fact that both the game and creative directors of the game left the studio, so they were back to square one.

Even the narrator in the trailers was changed, so in the second half of 2014, the developers announced that the game will only be released in 2016. They also had to change the graphics and this was frowned upon by the fans who regarded the new version to be a downgrade from the 2014 trailers. Uncharted 4 A Thief’s End also has different resolutions for the campaign and multiplayer, with the latter being only available in 900p compared to 1080p.

Where can I download Uncharted 4 A Thief’s End?

Uncharted 4 A Thief’s End was released on April 26, 2016, soon after ReCore and fans are able to purchase the game online from Sony Entertainment. The physical copies ship all over the world, so they can be acquired in brick-and-mortar venues. The most dedicated fans can also purchase the A Special Edition, Libertalia Collector's Edition and Digital Deluxe Edition announced by Sony last year.

Those who are in the market for memorabilia and like the idea of owning an art book dedicated to the franchise can help themselves to The Art of Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End. This will hit the stores even before the release of the game, so the waiting time has been reduced to some extent. Last but definitely not least, the prequel as well as the other installments in the franchise can be acquired in a bundle.

What are others saying about Uncharted 4 A Thief’s End?

Knowing that the last installment in one of the most popular videogame franchises of all time is about to hit the stores, generates a lot of enthusiasm. With only the demo, the gameplay and teaser trailers available, the game received mixed reviews, but they were generally positive. The few complaints were aimed at the fact that the visuals look like they suffered a downgrade from the initial trailer, but these concerns were quickly put to rest by the developers.

Uncharted 4 A Thief’s End tournaments

Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End is not going to be the best multiplayer game of the year and it’s very likely that everyone will talk about the single player campaign. Nevertheless, it is refreshing to know that the developers spent the time and energy to come up with a compelling multiplayer mode. It won’t generate major tournaments that will make this final installment a star on the eSports arena like Dota 2 or League of Legends, but will provide players with a welcomed distraction from an otherwise stellar narrative.

My rating of Uncharted 4 A Thief’s End

Looking back at the previous installments in the franchise, I almost get goose bumps when thinking about the high standards that Uncharted 4 A Thief’s End has to meet. The good news is that the trailers are extremely promising, the slice of the gameplay that I got the chance to enjoy meets all my expectations and the voice acting is as strong as ever. I doubt that I’ll be able to keep up the uptrend in rating Uncharted 4 games as this one would be nothing short of a perfect 10. I strongly believes that the final resume note with exceed 9 and I’m hinting for 9.5 out of 10.
