Players can also choose between a more stealthy style and open combat when taking on any opponents.

There are many such arenas scattered all over the world, effectively acting as side quests that players can complete.
Plot of Assassin’s Creed Origins
The Assassin's Creed Origins plot begins at the Abstergo's Historical Research Division where Layla Hassan and Deanna Geary search for an Egyptian artifact. They stumble upon the mummies of Assassins Bayek and Aya and use the Animus to relieve their memories. Players are taken back in time more than 2000 years when Bayek and his son Khemu are kidnapped. He is forced to open a secret Vault and as they try to escape, Bayek inflicts a mortal wound to Khemu by mistake.
He vows to find the ones responsible and begins a search for the five masked men that captured them. Together with Aya he tracks down the perpetrators and one by one, he kills them. With just one target on the list, things take an unexpected turn for the worse, since the elusive "The Snake" is hard to catch. Players find out that the term actually defines the entire Order of Ancients and Bayek meets with Apollodorus and Cleopatra.
As the central character becomes Cleopatra's Medjay he continues his hunt and eventually assassinates all the enemies. Meanwhile, in present-day time, Abstergo soldiers attack Layla and Deanna, with the latter being killed in the process. Back in ancient Egypt, Bayek succeeds at eliminating all threats and Cleopatra becomes Pharaoh. She and Caesar form an alliance with the Order, which prompts the central character to find and kill Caesar's lieutenant, Flavius, the leader of the organization.
Aya recruits Marcus Brutus and together they weave a plan to assassinate Caesar and Septimius. After the plan succeeds, he returns to Egypt to issue a stark warning to Cleopatra urging her to become of their ruler. The plot of Assassin's Creed Origins concludes with Bayek and Aya building the Assassin Brotherhood new members for the cause.
Development of Assassin’s Creed Origins
Development of Assassin's Creed Origins began in 2014 and work continued after Assassin's Creed Syndicate was released in 2015. The latter proved to be a disappointment, so the team decided to use a new game engine to avoid a similar outcome. It took longer to produce the kind of game they were hoping for, especially with a PC version on the drawing board. The first information about the new game was released in early 2017. Assassin's Creed Origins was officially announced in June.
The game was developed using the AnvilNext game engine and its setting was chosen after consulting the fans. Apparently, players were hoping for an Assassin's Creed game to take place in ancient Egypt. Initially, the idea was dismissed as terrible but in the end the team found it worthwhile to follow this lead. A lot of attention was paid to the visuals and sound effects, to create a more immersive game. Sarah Schachner produced the original score after working on previous games in the franchise.
Where can I download Assassin’s Creed Origins?
Ubisoft is both the publisher and developer of the game, so it comes as no surprise that its website is the best source to download Assassin's Creed Origins. The game can be purchased as a stand-alone product or acquired in a bundle with other games in the series. Most of those who choose to play this game are probably familiar with at least one of the previous iterations. Even so, it pays off to revisit those settings, to better understand the progress made with the latest installment.
The video game developer and publisher has produced a dozen of other games in 2017. Some of its best games however were released in the previous years and they can all be found here. Players take no chances if they choose to download and play Tom Clancy’s the Division, Far Cry Primal and Watch Dogs. They belong to other genres and present players with different challenges, but they are all fun to play and rewarding.
What are others saying about Assassin’s Creed Origins?
Assassin's Creed Origins was well received by the audience, especially after the poor reception of Assassin's Creed Syndicate. Even though it is not one of the best rated games in the franchise, it represents an important milestone for the series. Initially, the technical issues that affected the game were highlighted and criticized in Assassin's Creed Origins reviews. However, most of them have been fixed and the new game engine delivered a great gaming experience.
A few players and critics alike regarded this new take on the Assassin's Creed franchise as the best in the series. They praised the original setting and the attention paid to details to create an amazing virtual realm. The game also has the merit of proving developers that sometimes it is worth paying attention to what the fans like. The idea of setting the action in ancient Egypt paid off in this case.
My Rating of Assassin’s Creed Origins
I can still remember the enthusiasm I felt when playing the first Assassin's Creed game. Back then it felt like a breakthrough and the original had extraordinary replayability. Unfortunately, it also set the bar too high for the franchise to be able to maintain this pace. At several points I’ve told myself that I won’t be playing the next installment, but somehow I found it impossible to resist the temptation. Assassin’s Creed Unity restored my confidence and I have to say that the last installment is on par.
Assassin's Creed Origins is indeed the best looking game in the series, but that’s hardly a surprise since it is also the latest. What I like a lot about this game is that it has a compelling story and a truly remarkable setting. It is a pleasure to complete the main campaign, but at the same time players are given numerous incentives to take on side quests. This is a game easy to recommend and I’m happy to be able to give it a review score of 8 out of 10.
