The PC version was slightly better ranked, but only barely compared to the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.
Players and critics alike were not happy with the fact that the open world was rather barren. The idea of walking long distances with no real purpose seemed to be the most frustrating aspect. My Rating of Sniper Ghost Warrior 3
I agree with those who think that too many first-person shooters waive the technical and strategic elements. There is an obvious desire explore as much as possible and also an irresistible temptation to go out all guns blazing. Sniper Ghost Warrior 3 is nothing like that, but it will require a lot of patience to complete on higher difficulty. The process can quickly get tedious for the mass majority of modern players, who are used to different game mechanics.
Personally, I had some fun early on completing missions and going after the bad guys on my own. I like the fact that it’s possible to take on side quests if you don’t feel like completing the main plot. At the same time I completely agree with those who say that the open world is more of a gimmick. I dreaded the idea of walking long distances and encounter nothing, even though that’s probably how snipers feel. In any case, a first-person shooter should be more entertaining and this one can get boring pretty quickly. With all these things in mind I can’t go beyond a review score of 6 out of 10.
