A lot of attention was paid to developing the story and to enhancing the visuals even further. In order to make the game as authentic as possible, the team had to research the events and locations of the 60s.

More than 100 actors were involved in the production and development of Wolfenstein II The New Colossus. The result is a collection of cut scenes that made the game special and give it authenticity. Dozens of hours of performers were recorded but despite all these efforts the game was released on time. What are others saying about Wolfenstein II The New Colossus?

Wolfenstein II The New Colossus reviews were overwhelmingly positive and the game exceeded expectations. Both the critics and players regard this game as the best in the series and perhaps the best in the entire franchise. The effort of bringing together so many actors to create memorable cut scenes was acknowledged and celebrated. Players were also impressed with the manner the developers were able to re-create a virtual world in an alternate timeline.

The gameplay was criticized by some players as a bit too simplistic and brutal. Similar criticism was drawn by the narrative and the occasional patriotic platitudes that are scattered all over it. Once again, the cut scenes and the dozens of hours of recorded performance make a strong contribution to this cause.

My Rating of Wolfenstein II The New Colossus

I don’t think I’ve missed any game in the Wolfenstein series, having played them all since the early 90s. It is impressive to see how far the franchise got and how exciting the latest titles. Personally I wasn’t too impressed by the narrative, yet I have to give developers credit for the way they have set the mood. This is the kind of game that gets you fully involved and the cut scenes are simply amazing. They cover the entire spectrum of emotions from playful humor to shocking scenes and difficult choices.

Wolfenstein II The New Colossus has arrived just in time for the winter holidays and it is not a game to skip. The worst-case scenario is to keep you at the edge of your seat for 20+ hours, but it can be much more than this. It is one of the most exciting games of 2017 and has plenty to offer even for the most demanding players. I’m probably a little biased towards it since I played all the Wolfenstein game so far, but I don’t think a review score of 8.5/10 is excessively high.
